- Electronic business (e-business) is an area of interest to both researchers and practitioners in the information disciplines. The implications for information management and the design of information systems arising from the decision to adopt e-business are still largely unknown. Furthermore, research in this area is often exploratory and cautious in its findings, which raises challenges for the teaching of courses in e-business. In particular, there is the need to frnd appropriate ways of balancing the theoretical issues of information systems management with the practical issues of implementing and managing e-business systems and services in an environment of intense demand for courses and programs in e-business. We will discuss the design and facilitation of courses on the topic of e-business management and reflect on the implications for teaching and learning. Our approach, founded on constructivist, experiential and collaborative learning principles, is organised around three themes, making connections, being a player and learners as researchers. We hope that sharing our reflections on experience will provide useful insights for other practitioners and educators.
